Some online friendships lasted me longer than real ones bc youre used to texting to keep contact. When it goes from seeing a rl friend everyday (school, work, university, etc.) to only when you decide to meet up many friendships dont last long.

I met a few people through a group preparing for an entrance exam and with some of them I'm writing almost everyday even thought the exam is already over. One of them is moving to my city next summer and I'm rlly exited about that.

so for me its yes, maybe, yes regarding your questions. I'm not sure about the second one. Just bc u dont have someone with whom u can meet/ do activities together. If youre a person who enjoys doing stuff alone and just wants someone to talk to tho it can totally work out. I mean you can also play video games or sth like that with ur online friends
Oh interesting, I think my real life friendships definitely lasted longer because we had to go to the same places everyday for years while with online friendships it feels easier to just disconnect from it and I think talking so often can kind of "waste" away the friendship if that even makes sense. With real life ones you have more space for yourself and probably a more interesting time since you'd have more topics to talk about while you don't see each other
yea ofc many of my rl friendships lasted longer but like I said after you go from seeing them everyday it can quickly go to seeing them every 1-2 weeks to seeing them once a year or maybe never at some point. It also depends on the person. Some people are so talkative and fun in rl but soo bad at messaging. But thats an important part when not seeing each other everyday. For me I always lost friendships once a new stage of life begins. I have like 1-2 friends from high school (none from elementary school, we dont have sth like middle school), 1 one from my workplace and who knows how many I will keep in touch with after university ends.

I'm writing with them everyday rn bc we have time but its been a bit less the past 2-3 weeks bc most of them are moving. But actually we never run out of topics until now :'D  Once uni starts it will probably be even less but I hope to still keep in touch with them. It was so much fun stuyding together with people who have the same goal since none of my rl friends could relate.

I feel like i'd be hurt if one online friend that i've been talking with everyday, since age 13-14 from gosupermodel didnt consider me a friend but others it's ok. I consider my online friends like any other friends. Often end up meeting irl given the fact we stay in touch for quite some time, so that's kinda nice.
omg gosupermodel was the first online community I enjoyed. I still miss it so much.
i know right, it was so good. Happy it's part of my childhood, and my nostalgia for gsm was up the roof even as adult which is why i joined vp. Just sucks it's unprofessional ish website, owned by dutch semi-problematic guy that do nothing to improve yet enjoys having this as passive-income. But this website has its charm.
