also, i'd guess 'bullying season' really just depends on who your circles are and who you share your social media with. i have some friends who thrived with the ability to communicate with their closest friends and others who prefered a wider following. 
it's the same as it's always been. it just depends where you go and who you are with.

I have been on all of those platforms and tiktok and Instagram bred an unbelievable gullible and cruel kind of internet user in combination with bad reading comprehension, pack behavior and a false sense of righteousness . Sure tumblr was the seed but tiktok and insta are the toxic plants.

I think gen z is still quite young so i don’t want to judge. I’m not that young anymore but i still consider myself an absolute idiot a lot of the time and i do wonder how much more progressive i would be now if i had all this information available to me when i was younger. Gen z is certainly much smarter than i was in their age and i think social media has a lot to do with that.
