I really want to become a vegetarian solely for humane reasons. I don't cook meat at home, I hardly cook fish. But, damn it, as soon as you come to visit, and everything is meat ... and it is impossible to resist. The squirrel is not enough, well, for me personally. And when there is not enough protein, I am drawn to sweets. This is how to balance the diet in such a way that I do not overeat starchy foods and sweets ...
Recently I began to buy tofu, in principle I liked it, the dishes turn out to be quite light, at the same time I don't feel like eating for a long time. What other products and dishes would you recommend?

your daily intake of protein as a vegan/vegetarian is covered by just eating normally.

What about vitamins and minerals? I came across an article describing the need for taking B12 for vegetarians. Are there any other supplements you need to take?

it all depends what you eat. many vegan substitutes has b12 in them, so if you eat lots of products with added b12 it's not necessary to take that ig. but if you think you don't get that enough from your diet, then yes take supplementsĀ

but the thing that's not talked so much about for some reason is iodine. really the only vegan source for iodine is seaweed. so unless you eat seaweed daily you should make sure you get iodine somewhereĀ
it's not hard tho, like it's also added in many products already and you can always use iodized saltĀ

ur daily intake of b12 is covered by eating a normal, varied diet as a ovo-lacto-vegetarian. vegans may have to take b12 supplements, but most replacement foods such as oat milk n so on is fortified w b12. the need to use b12 supplements has been lowered a lot the last few years. when i first turned veggie, everyone was taking supplements - its rarer now.

there are not other vitamins you will lack if you have a normal, varied diet.
