so.... has any nuclears been used?
I wonder how you got the impression that a nuclear bomb was used from talking about them shelling the power plant since no bomb was used in Pripyat,
but the answer's no, no bomb was used and they report that no radiation was leaked, but then again the same happened in Pripyat, the Russians did just claim that nothing was leaked and sometime later the disaster was discovered, but if it WAS the case we'd see reports of people dying to radiation so might be true.
I asked you a question because couldn't understand a word you were writing before, if they were to use a sincle nuclear weapon it's unforgivable.

No idea whats shelling the power plant or Pripyat for that matter.
shelling is bombing, the Russians bombed a nuclear power plant called Zaporizhzhia while fighting the Ukrainians and seized it after that.
due to the shelling, a fire was created there, which could indicate that a reactor or something there went wrong, which would be a catastrophic situation considering it's a nuclear power plant, if it WAS the case, the whole area would've been inhabitable for years to come, wiping whole cities and killing so many people in the process, and if it would've been spread too much, it could've affected the rest of Europe REALLY badly, but from the looks of it, the fire was not there and the situation is under control, no radiation is leaking and things are alright, besides the fact that the Russians are in control there now.

Pripyat is... WAS a city for workers and their families that worked in the Chernobyl power plant years ago, I'd really recommend picking up and reading about the disaster of Chernobyl in 1986 if you have no idea what it is, a tragic but interesting read.

Here's an article about the event I was talking about in Zaporizhzhia -

What puts me off is the way my parents reacted to be honest

Before the situation really escalated my dad was very pro putin
(He's also the kinda man who watches russian military parades and listens to the russian anthem in his free time, his parents are russian though, so not too unexpected)

But now my dad is very "ukranians are heros" "putin is a piece of shit" etc and my mom even bought lots of stuff to send to Ukraine and help people there and she's even considering taking in 2 Ukrainian refugee children

I distinctly remember having a huge fight with my dad a few weeks ago because we were standing on opposite sides of the conflict and now they did a whole 180
Such an unexpected change of character!
Good I mean, but the way my dad talked at the beginning, yikes

people were truly blinded by Putin, my family is also slowly changing their mind about their president and it's well...

The shame and fear I'm feeling those last few days are unbearable,
and if I couldn't look at the eyes of my family before, now it's impossible.

How can people BELIEVE, sing and praise this madman?
Agree with him and BELIEVE that annihilating an entire nation, who is our brother nation, to be true and just?
a culture so intertwined with ours, so rich and colourful, with beautiful people all around, cheerful smiles, and loving people? despite all that we as a nation have done to them, they still hold love and understanding towards us Russians, not all, as there's no such thing as a full collective in those matters, but so many.

I know it's not the people's fault, but I can't stop feeling like this, knowing my brothers and sisters are losing their land and lives, their loved ones, and all that they knew, over the delusions of just one greedy guy.

Today I got news that yet another friend of mine has fallen in battle, a painful reminder that this dream me and the rest of the friends had, to meet up on summer vacation as they're mostly students, since it has been years since we met up altogether as a group, without anyone missing, will just...
Never happen.
Not anymore.
I will miss them dearly.

i don't rly get why some people (not here but elsewhere) are REALLY anti-russia now, as in thinking anything to do with russia or russian people is bad, unacceptable, problematic... whatever

putin is insane n of course this is fucked but i don't think you can blame the whole country for that? and i'm sure most russian people don't want this war either?

apparently people in helsinki are demanding to change the name of the street that the russian embassy is on (even tho the name itself has nothing to do with russia) to "troll factory street" or zelenskyi street as like a statement against russia. i j don't see the point, it's so petty and not helpful at all.

illiteracy about any subject makes people ignorant and well, dumb.
it is truly not the Russian folk's fault, but to anyone who's not TRULY aware of what is happening,
Putin = Russia, therefore the Russians are also bad

Now Putin is sending Syrian 'volunteers' to fight his battle. How much more bloodloss till he can be stopped.

Meanwhile people here are in disarray and a new stupid racism debate has started too and we are still buying gas and coal from Russia through a back door. It is shameful.

I even heard some (not the majority but too many) people say shit like 'we should have let them have Ukraine, idgaf about Ukraine but I care about gas prices'.
