Mostly it's because we have an actual system to register items that has gone on date ( or at least in my store branch) the issue is that in lets say display where you have at least 50+ of the item, a lot of the have at least 5 different expirations dates - issue is that most of the time when you trim and remove expired ones, you have to register a new date. Often the item gets scanned in by lets say the third closest expiration date, which mean that maybe the two beforehand will get old - if we don't check up on the dates generally.Store workersÂ
