I think if one starts medication when fairly young, its kind of useful to stop the medication for a while at least, as long as its not life saving medication, just to see how you function without them. Especially if u have some weird physiological or physical symptoms that are bothering you, or just to see if you need the medication at all anymore

I started them in my early 20s while I was in college too so any weird side effects or changes to my mood/emotional regulation I always just chalked up to being in college and in bad relationships. Melody wrote:
all meds r kinda fucked when u think abt it... i mean they are designed to alter something inside ur body which is why it can cause a plethora of side effects + why u can't b certain what happens to u bc our body chemistries r different, so u have to try and try until u find something that doesn't completely fuck u over. u change one thing that ur body is struggling with and it can (rather, usually will) cause a chain reaction of other bs which u may or may not detect by urself
i'm currently on like. an autism evaluation while my current diagnosis is avpd,, and the thing is like. there's so many overlappings
Yeah, meds or really any form of medical treatment, always have risks or potential side effects, because otherwise they probably wouldn't work either, because they wouldn't actually do anything in ur body yeah? Weird stuff but alas all meds r kinda fucked when u think abt it... i mean they are designed to alter something inside ur body which is why it can cause a plethora of side effects + why u can't b certain what happens to u bc our body chemistries r different, so u have to try and try until u find something that doesn't completely fuck u over. u change one thing that ur body is struggling with and it can (rather, usually will) cause a chain reaction of other bs which u may or may not detect by urself
