hebrew, which means i gotta learn the alphabet first - esp since i'm not gonna focus on speaking it but more so writing and reading

oh that's very interesting! any particular reason beyond wanting to read scriptures? 
i think that's a good combination of languages to learn, it's the same language family so learning understanding hebrew should help in learning arabic later, but i totally get that the alphabet thing is a challenge. i've tried to learn to read cyrillic and greek but it's definitely an additional challenge when learning a language, and those are alphabets in the same or very similar way as the latin (or roman) alphabet, so compared to hebrew and arabic it's piece of cake
