on one hand i think it's really fucking sad and even tho it's true, it annoys me when ppl are like "i can do what i want with my body, it's only for myself" bc yeah of course, but there is a reason why ppl do it in the first place. if we wanna feel better about ourselves, changing our bodies can only do so much. changing our mindset is what will actually make a real difference bc there is where the actual issue is. in reality, how our bodies look doesn't matter at all. what matters is what we think about our bodies (and others' bodies). our perception and the current trends that will always change with time. maybe in the future, it will be really trendy to have big ears?
but then on the other hand i'm like, who the hell cares? we have the ability to alter our bodies to our liking (when u have money, that is), so what should stop us from it? i don't believe there is any sort of meaning to life, but if we want to experience something that's available, why not, unless it hurts another person? in 100 years, maybe everyone who can afford it will be able to change how their body looks? maybe it will be the norm and the prices have dropped bc it's totally normalised? just as normal as shopping for clothes. imagine shops with different noses on display in the windows lol
pls stop me before i give myself an existential crisis
