are children given too many "trophies" in today's age? e.g are they overly rewarded for doing the bare minimum? and did this apply to you?

and no that did not apply to me, I actually grew up to be the complete opposite but I don't want to get into why and how.

nah this really seems like a none-issue made up by gen x/boomers and they're the ones handing out the rewards anyways, it's not like the kids ask for them

The general idea in society (or among older generations) seems to be that that is indeed the case, but idk. In the rare case that I have received any kind of reward, it has been justified.

if rewarding dogs for good behaviour to teach them it is appropriate then i rly dont see how children should be treated less ouf

one thing i found was children who do as asked by the adult/get on with their work don't receive recognition whilst typically bad kids get extra motivation and rewards for being good sometimes

this is a good ass question idc!!!! im so conflicted

one hand i agree, rewards can motivate a child and what's wrong with rewarding a child for doing something well

but then i think for certain children, it sets an idea that that is how life always works and u should be rewarded for anything you do

I responded with yes because my first thought was school
I don't think kids should be "rewarded" for getting good grades.

That is annoying but also I do think children need different things, like if a kid won't do anything at all with put rewards or whatever, fine enough, but why reward a kid just doing to work anyway cus they might not struggle as bad with it
