what do you think constitutes bullying? do you think it's always easy to tell if you were bullied or not, or if you bullied someone?

Being verbally/physically abusive, otherwise no

i don't rly understand how leaving someone out of a group is bullying tbh? like i just read this article about some girl who apparently didn't realize she was a bully, but the stuff she did was like.. not inviting someone to hang out after school... i just don't rly understand how that's bullying

but then my nephew is getting bullied at school, like some kids have thrown chunks of ice at his head, stolen & broken his things and threatened to stab him with needles, etc etc. but no one is really even calling it bullying? it's always just "x kids behaved badly one time" or just a misunderstanding... hard to understand how these concepts are so mismatched

I think defining bullying is rather challenging as some people would perceive an action as teasing or insignificant while someone else might experience the same action as bullying. It's very individual. This is obviously not dismissing the fact that people get bullied or even blaming the victims of it. But separating teasing or anything else that's perhaps leaning in that general direction from bullying is about the individual experience of it, the degree of it, the intention of the actions, the time span etc.

purposely ignoring and excluding someone can also constitute bullying

Hell no, it's not easy to tell
I excluded people simply because I didn't want anyone to feel bad if they couldn't afford to do what may be planned.
All this time I thought I was being considerate

But this ties more into if u believe ppl should be forced to be with others just for the sake of inclusion, something im very against, so again ,,
