Dragged By VP

What do you do when one of your friends is involved in VP "drama" in a thread?
Do you support or mind your business?

Be honest, the forum has receipts!

Mostly just mind my own business, if i actually find the other person comments or reasoning to be unfair i might make a comment or 2

Depends on what issue it is, most of the time it's petty bs and I just stay out of it

mind my own business unless the friend comes to me to vent, i still don't play mediator though

I tend to mind my business, my friends don't need a bodyguard 😂

If I get into it with someone in a thread
I won't respond to anyone else but the person
that has the issue
I just read the comments and think
"why are you even in this?"

depends on if i think the dragging is fair or not. honestly, the vp friends i have now rarely end up in drama - but i have absolutely jumped in to defend my friends. but im not active enough right now to keep up w the times and the dramas

Most likely they're wrong in the drama so I'm definitely not defending them

that said, arguing on vp often is like talking to a brick wall. doesnt matter what credentials you have - the 16 yo who googled the topic briefly of course knows more about the topic than the master candidate.

god i wish my study object was somewhat obscure, because if i say "i am actually a history teacher, i know history" i just get pissed off teenagers accusing me of being pretentious and acting as if i am so much better than them because "i know more"

luckily, people dont tend to challenge me on my other subject, but like... it rarely pops up

One of the main perks of linguistics is that the terms used to describe language is very often outside the average vocabulary so once I actually turn my brain on to discuss language I suddenly start using other words than "lmao no"
