does my apartment need to be for a showing
like is it ok if it's "normal clean" and it looks like someone lives here etc

my landlord wants to hold a showing next week, & i was supposed to leave town today but my landlord only told me about this yesterday... so i have to clean everything today bc i'm not gonna be here next week

i would do a pretty good clean, like don't leave stuff around
rly like clean it so its good to show off

well i guess as long as it's 'casual clean' they probably don't care if there's signs of someone living there
that's just.. normal

i usually did a deep clean of my place like every two weeks and it didn't rly take more than half a day, it should be doable depending on how many breaks and stuff u take

also what does "no stuff laying around" mean? because i keep some of my stuff in like not organized clusters in specific locations and it maybe looks messy but that's where those things belong imo. do i have to put them away in a closet or something

If you’re 12+ and need cleaning tips, something is wrong 😔

idk how it is for these kind of showings, im assuming it's not cause someone is moving into ur flat?

usually for proper showings you want everything to be very like,,, no stuff anywhere, like minimal amount of personal items and decoration etc. But if your landlord didn't give you those instructions i would just say clean it to a point where it does not look messy... even if it means like shoving things into desk drawers and under your pillows temporarily???

i'd put them away into the closet

maybe if you chat with your landlord you could send them a pic later and ask if it's ok like that

Cleaning the oven isn’t difficult unless you can’t read directions on a can.
unless one grew up in squalor with nasty lazy parents, most people know how to clean by now.

sorry but ur experience genuinely isn't the universal one in this case, and also really rude?? believe it or not but some people weren't taught to clean by their parents/ are dealing with things that have prevented them from learning.

not being able to clean an oven at age 12 -- even with instructions is not weird. Not knowing exactly how to clean for a house showing as an adult, also isn't weird

Tuck everything in cabinets
like there can still be books on bookshell and a toast machine on the table but pretty much really nothing else
++ precise vacuuming, dusting, wiping etc

Maybe you were looking for a reason to be offended if you found it rude.

A basic life skills class should be offered in school. It’s wrong for anyone to grow up/live on their own and not be properly taught how to maintain/clean where they live.
