And I've always been like a crazy well prepared food hoarding kind of person but I never once considered what would happen if the power went out, I just keep dry goods and meats. I never thought to hoard things that don't need cooked.

lol I lived on the gulf coast up til '07 so everyone would freak about storms, but they never quite got us, it was like the weather played the boy who cried wolf my whole childhood and we just stopped taking it seriously.
I remember one year there were so many storms we just left the boards on the windows the whole damn season, we just gave up lol

I still always got outta school tho because my school was a shelter where folks from the other coast evacuated to.

My neighbors when I was growing up had a keggerator so my mom would just go there and get LIT and the neighborhood kids would all play in the rain

I also have a less than reliable, sagging roof that my landlords won't fix because it ain't leaking and their good ole' boy contractors said "nah, looks good!"
If it collapses I'll just sue their asses tho, I have insurance.
