it's weird, but they are probably hitting the right audience by selling it there tbh

no we dont have that up in mass, but I know in maine the general store near my grandfathers hunting cabin is like a true general store

we have dunkins in gas stations and taco bell/kfc combs

I think fireworks r pretty much illegal here so probably why 
the legality of fireworks varies from state-to-state in the US, too.
Folks drive across state lines to buy illegal fireworks and then just hope not to get caught shooting them off
