anyone else sick and tired of talking to their boomer parents about their job prospects and being treated like the only obstacle to you getting a job is your own personal limitations

like sorry mom i love u but u have had guaranteed, full time salaried employment in the medical field for the past 30 years, incl. retirement, health insurance, and other benefits so maybe don't tell me how your experience applies to me a humanities student

man I'm having the SAME problem
I'm self-employed but need just a little somethin' to supplement it
I CANT work more than 2-3 days a week and no one will hire me....

a few little old ladies who need gardening done, and my friend who are farmers have me selling at the market, all under the table is all I can really come up with

I'm so blessed that my mom is very young and has struggled the same ways I have and totally understands.

As for my boomer grandma she's woke as FUCK, it's so CUTE.
she 'bout made me cry on the phone the other day when she told me she got married and got a job that made money and had kids because that's what she was "supposed to" do and she feels like she missed out for no good reason because she did everything "right" so she could retire comfortably and she's still struggling, and she's really proud of me for weighing my options and being comfortable living below my means to do what makes me happy and and and
