Ever think about how the actions that lead to really dark and gritty things seem so mundane or harmless on the surface?
Like... before the ban on meth precursors in the us and the shift to cartel manufacturing in mexico... ppl going out and buying cold medicine and lye and shit and cashiers not realizing their sale is leading to a cook soon to make bank off a junkie looking to score
Or some hardware associate measuring out nylon rope for some unassuming man, not knowing the sale will lead to his eventual suicide
I think it's why I like dystopian novels, or silly looking cartoons like moral orel or Rick and morty or bojack that end up getting dark as fuck with time
This world is so twisted and deranged yet on the surface seems so bright and shiny
