I went and checked tho and some were gone but the larger pieces still remain, and the difficult ones like eggshells. I just gave it a good stir, added some brown material and now it's back to sit for another month.

home compost definitely requires more time than commercial compost because we can't get our temps as high

I do bokashi first tho but ye i didn't have anywhere to put it last year so i made a tiny compost box thing to hopefully be able to use it this season

that sounds nice tho. much easier in a way. i wish we had like either a compost for the neighborhood or  at least the area but it doesn't seems like it is coming around anytime soon. When I first looked into Bokashi it was 'promised' that composting would be implemented into our recycling the year after (2019) but that didn't happen so i picked up something to try it myself that fall and... well, last year sorta failed a bit and then winter came too early and here we are in the first promising season

I'm very skeptical about municipal composting, with as piss-poor and full of lies that municipal recycling is.

no. if u do it right and cover it well enough u shouldn't get rats. anyway i already have mice that snack on my bunny's food and i've never seen rats here so no. I'm more likely to poison deers or foxes.

if i lived closer to the city, i would probably be more worried about it.

I fixed 1 of 2 beds today and put some of the compost\bokashi into the bottom layer and  I hope it will turn out nice. Hopefully, I get to do the second one tomorrow.
