Thrifting!!!!?
Private
World famous

Mostly referring to clothes here but how the hell do you guys do it? I thrift occasionally, but most of the time I can’t find anything that catches my eye, or I buy stuff I later regret about. Maybe I’m just looking at the wrong things cause there are clearly cute stuff I’m missing ):<

What do you usually look for in thrift shops? Do you look through every racket?

I used to buy from a vintage second hand store mostly since they had a lot of cool stuff, however they sadly closed down. I don't really thrift bc I can't fin shit in my size n i cant sew.

But when I did i looked at everything, like often some people hide the good stuff for later visits.

idk everything in thrift shops feels so expensive now that its "trendy" to thrift jkbfgmdjbg
but i'll look if i happen to be near one    tho im too picky i usually dont find anything that fits + looks good

i look through everything and pick out everything that interests me, if it fits nicely i buy it
my best tip for finding good clothing is try to not look at the clothing as individual pieces that have to look nice on their own but rather as pieces that go together to make outfits
also its always good to give everything that catches your eye a chance, something can look weird on a hanger but great on a body lol

i work at a thrift store ask me anything

i'd say try stuff on, don't only look for extremely specific things, and try to find thriftstores besides the extremely mainstream ones everyone goes to! (goodwill/salvation army). it might take a few to find the one that's perfect for you because there's a spectrum of cheap-quality and people have different preferences (also different people donate to usually one in particular so you might hate the stuff at one and love the stuff at another)

true, think I often have specific things in mind when thrifting and that's what leaves me empty handed cx

yeah whenever i go thrifting looking for something i dont find it 75% of the time and i will qlways leave with something else. im kind of easy when it comes to thrifting because i love button down shirts that are a little too big and silly graphic tees but its just a matter of patience

I usually have my favorite categories in mind (shoes, bags, jackets) but I always go through almost everything and most often I come home with other things.

I'm not looking for anything specific. I bought a little angel to put on my shelf last time

id go to vintage stores instead of the regular thrift stores, they handpick every item so theyre usually always good, and not just what someones 50 year old mom bought in 2009 and then decided to donate last year

I think it depends on which thrift shop i go to, beacuse we have a few where the clothes are.. hm.. not good. But we have one place where i can find a few things, but yes i need to really look! I also buy secondhand online, through aps which has worked very well.

yes, i think this is better tbh
both because apps like tise etc have become much more popular among our generation, so finding things that arent Betty(42)'s old things are a lot easier. Unless thats the vibe ure going for i guess
and also its so much easier finding specific things, be it a brand u like, colors u like, ur sizing`?????????????? i much more prefer that, but i know some ppl like irl thrifting for the literal reason that they DONT know what theyre gonna find and its all a surprise so i guess thats pretty individual
