can we talk about this though,, your parents dating is such a weird experience. cuz these people just come into your life and you get attached to them, but then they break up and it's just like ok well goodbye forever. and yes i like to hate on my stepmom a lot but if she left idk what i'd do you know. like i hate to think she's replaced my mom but ig she is sort of a parental figure now

I guess my opinion isn’t too valuable 
since it’s a sure thing I’ll never have a step mom
BUT
if you’ve formed a good relationship/friendship 
with a step-mom, why should it be expected
to end just because she’s not with your dad?

I probably wouldn’t grossly flaunt it 
in my dad’s face
but I’d still keep in touch 🤷🏾‍♀️

fair point i guess, if your parent breaks up with a stepparent when you're like a teen or older it would make sense to keep in touch. bit hard to do when you're a kid though
