I think it's really important to recognize that there's a huge chunk of right wing voters in the US who literally only vote based on guns, jesus, and abortion (and more recently, vaccines) - that's fucking it, and then any issues beyond that they just regurgitate whatever their church pastor or fox news says, they don't actually understand it.

It's a lifetime of brainwashing and social conditioning through church and the public schools.
In a sense, they are victims - unfortunately they're also fucking dangerous.
