What ist the alt-right?
Riddle

History tells us that most nazis were socialist or at the very least had socialist ideas in terms of economics and welfare. I'm of course talking about Germany during the nazi-era. But what would a modern neo-nazi think? Where do the alt-right people stand politically other than being against modern social and progressive views?

They really dig confirmation bias, like, their distrust of the media runs deep (which in a sense is kinda fair, the media is a propaganda tool), but like, they'll absolutely believe any media that confirms what they believe and it makes them completely impossible to reason with. Nothing you say, do, try, prove, will ever budge them.

That's how the nazis rose to popularity in the first place. They promoted socialist ideas and they promised to solve the economic crisis that was in Germany during the 1930s. The people were desperate for change and the nazis took advantage of that.

they only had an issue due to the wall street crash in 1929 when the US recalled the loans they had given germany in 1924.

I don't have a specific source for you but you can read about the great depression in Germany.

The word nazi literally comes from national socialism, but it's a form of socialism (like, opposed to both capitalism and communism) that is exclusionary and fascist in nature.

And like, given that nazis are inherently nationalist, it's not that weird to think that they want a strong nationalist state that "takes cares of its citizens", and thus not being opposed to welfare systems and the like.

In my experience , what many of you would probably call a neo-nazi vote republican in the u.s but actually, the european socialists have a lot more in common with the fascists than they do republicans. Isn't that interesting?

I think it's really important to recognize that there's a huge chunk of right wing voters in the US who literally only vote based on guns, jesus, and abortion (and more recently, vaccines) - that's fucking it, and then any issues beyond that they just regurgitate whatever their church pastor or fox news says, they don't actually understand it.

But no one wakes up in the morning and goes, "I'd like to be a brainwashed bigot today"
It's a lifetime of brainwashing and social conditioning through church and the public schools.
In a sense, they are victims - unfortunately they're also fucking dangerous.

Most I've talked to understand it but just have different priorities. Just because they vote for something you don't think it's important doesn't mean they don't understand what they are voting for. The same thing can be said about democrats. "These dumb democrats only care about taking my hard earned money and giving it away to bums. They don't understand that we need our guns to protect ourselves" etc.
