Meet Elliot

So, one of my bunnies died last week and Ellie seemed to get depressed real quickly. So yesterday I went and got her a new friend.

meet Elliot.

he’s a little poop machine, leaving trails of poop whoever he goes. He’s fast, curious and playful af. And brave cause daaaamn

first day together they did get into a fight so they’re in separate cages atm but he doesn’t seem to care. But they do have playtime together free in the apartment (with heavy supervision cause of the shit that has happened yesterday)

I hope they become friends.

Ellie does not like being challenged lmao
ellie is a Dom and stompe, her old pal who died, was a sub
elliot is quite a feisty one and does not stand back when she tries to show dominance ahahah
so my goal is to by the time he!s 4 month have him have the snip snip and hopefully put them in the same cage since stompe and Ellie shared.

dad came with Ellie’s old cage she had as a baby for Elliot to be in for the time being.

You shouldn't put bunnies together just like that if you got super cute elliot yesterday. They need to be used to each others smell and sight in seperated cages/spaces first, then slowly introduced to each other. Good luck tho. I hope ellie welcomes her new friend.

Oh I know, they’re in separated cages. I just did a first try after letting them sniff around separately at first because she had no problem when we brought stompe home. She just started taking care of him at once. Didn’t go as smoothly with Elliot so I’m taking it very slowly with these two.
he rubs chin on stuff a lot so I let her sniff the stuff he rubbed on. She doesn’t rub her chin or mark territory, she never has which surprises me. But Elliot has claimed my entire apartment lmao.

I’ll take a read of the article!

He’s 2 months old so he’s too young for castration. Late December is the earliest he can get castrated.

ellie is castrated.

we're kind of in the same situation then! My lil guy Calippo is 4,5 months now, i'm waiting until 6 months to castrate him just to be sure that he's big enough.
My girl Bubs is also castrated tho, so i've let them meet each other and it works out fine UNTIL he tries to mate which pisses her off, might be what makes yours fight too? Usually they're pretty easy to get along when ones a baby bunny (what i've experienced in the past)

anyways so i've had them side by side in their cages for like 2 months soon n omg can't wait until i can put them together it will be so much easier with cleaning and everything haha

Nope, the one fight they had was more of a nibble and chase cause she tried to groom him and he wanted to explore so she got mad that he wasn’t holding still ahaha

aha, then you'll probably have more fights when he wants to mate too :// or i can't tell for sure but thats what i'm noticing with mine.
Like they're eating together, he grooms her, they can run around n then all of a sudden he tries to mate n she gets annoyed n they're running around in circles n i gotta stop it with my hand. lmao almost got bitten and there was a lot of fur everywhere, so now they're not allowed to meet anymore.

Also be careful when u put them together if ur thinking about letting them live in her cage, females are often very territorial and it might be best to let him live in it first.

It’s possible, I think inwin’t put them in the same cage until he has had the snip snip.

Ellie has never really been territorial, she let stompe in without a care in the world and they bonded right away. they’ve been together since day 1 until he died.

I can tell it won’t be the same with Elliot so I’m letting it take more time. Ellie may still be in grief so I’m working with her a lot on the side and making Elliot feel more comfy here.
