It's not a comparison, it's more like a "just be glad that didn't happen also" -It could've been both and that would've been worse, it could've been worse.

Def not helping that we turned the power on like 9-11 times while the oven still was burning because at that time we assumed

1.) The smoke was due to the turkey (high temp for like 3-4 hours with a waterbath) 
3.) we had a lot of electronics on, so it made sense that the relay clicked and went out
