no I believe mine opens on the 24th as well, at least it's supposed to, but the cabin is only like an hour n a half drive from uni so it's not too far, and it's nice to get settled in before "real life" starts again hehe
oh yes that makes sense!! i also like to get settled before things start up again

food science, technology and sustainability, it's a bacherlors degree but I plan on taking a masters as well, I'm in the first year so rn it's just physics, chemistry and statistics with fancy subject names aha
