asked me shit for 10 minutes
and sent me off...

yes!! i also got that diagnosed at first, even when i said i dont agree with it at all 
i didnt even fit the criteria

but the primary diagnoses have been major depressive disorder and an anxiety disorder of some sort (what I have changes depending on who I see), and bipolar has been speculated but I disagree

also autism spectrum apparently but that was in childhood and I've considered a second opinion but that's a ton of money to see if I still fit the criteria for something I barely think about or feel affected by today

very very surprised borderline has never been brought up. I have some traits tbh

I think developmental disorders, such as adhd or autism, are usually a part of the person, whereas something like anxiety or depression is viewed as separate from the self. 

It's why pro autism rights and self -advocacy groups dislike first person language. Being autistic is who they are, for better or worse. 

It depends on if the diagnosis is ego dystonic or syntonic. I know a hallmark of ocd is that it is considered ego dystonic and a disturbing part of the person's psyche. Ppl I know with ocd live in spite of it.
