Is it possible to go insane momentarily?
I know insanity is difficult to pinpoint, but there's that saying about it that's like "Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome over and over again" Isn't there?

Sure, our brain is one big chemistry experiment that is influenced by the rest of our body and our environment.

One example is PMS and PMDD caused by the hormone drop experienced before the new cycle starts.
I always become extremely depressed during this but the day after I'm completely okay (not like 100% as if I wasn't mentally ill but like baseline okay).

I don't get affected emotionally or in any way, really.
Sorry to hear that, though!

I mean technically it happened to my mom

She was batshit insane for about 4 months

She will never be the same tbh but I'd consider her back to baseline now

From my unqualified af experience this seems to happen during bad drug trips or to bipolar ppl

the saying isn't like the definition of insanity per se but rather that doing the same over and over and over and over expecting a different outcome is insanity

I also feel like where mental health diagnosis is often just a collection of symptoms, rather than something tangible and provable, a lot more independent "mental breakdowns" get diagnosed as bipolar, especially in women

I mean someone can be like, genetically predisposed to bipolar but never present until something triggers it and for a lot of folks it's drugs, illegal or otherwise.
