Make it easier to get credits, popdollar and fans. Being new on this site is hell, especially with the YouTube star minimum requirement before you can be social. The requirement is fair enough, because it keeps trolls away, but at the same time it also really punishes new players, because there's a maximum on how many fans and popdollar you can get through games every hour, and there's the waiting time with perfomance, singing and dancing. I know I almost gave up on this website when I started out because of it.
So honestly, the first thing would be to make it more newbie friendly, which could be done in a few different ways -Â
1) remove bodyguard and make it a social media manager that gives fans every day you're active instead. This gives more fans, which promotes logging back in - especially when you've just started, because it adds up over time.
2) Clothing as a reward every time you gain a level. I've heard more than once that gaining a level after youtube star doesn't matter, so giving some rewards as you gain a level would be 10/10. If a few credits were added as well it would be grand.
3) up the times you can play the different games every hour to earn rewards, or up the rewards (or do both?)
4) maybe do a conversion thing for credits? Idk. Right now it just seems to be very much "pay to play" for VP, which I know isn't true, but it surely feels that way. I don't really know if a conversion is the way to go though, because it might just ruin the economy instead.
5) maybe split events from the normal threads on the front page? It makes it easier to see what the lovely teams are doing atm, which might promote more activity/entries because people suddenly become more aware of them actually being there.
6) maybe make the website more mobile friendly. Just the small things as making the ads phone sized, make it easier to actually click on the right things etc. Some days I don't even turn on my computer, but don't mind visiting from my phone, but I usually don't stay here for long because it's that terrible for phone users to use (just by writing this whole paragraph I've had to mute an ad 5 times and stop writing)
7) maybe more ads on social media to lure new players. I honestly like the promotion system, and I'm also a little afraid of the type of people lured to a dress up site if promoted on social media (think ES) so I'm a little against this as well, but it's probably the easiest way to gain new players.
