people I don't know have been recognizing me in public
and when I say I don't know them - I don't mean like I don't remember them
I mean I legitimately do not know them, have never met them
and like, I know why they recognize me - it's just that I will never not find this incredibly bizarre and uncomfortable.

has that ever happened to you?

No, I would have no reason to be recognized at all.

Yes, in college because of
a specific site
it was only fellow students
that would approach me
I’m friendly and all
but it was weird because
some were going off pics
and acting as if they knew me

Now when it happens
I just assume it’s from volunteering
or some organization

Pupils I've taught during teaching practice stare at me whenever they see me in stores and such (': It's a bit awkward and I feel bad for all of my own teachers that I definitely started at in stores during my childhood

depends what town I'm in
I teach workshops for teens where I live, and it's been in the news and locally promoted a lot
in the next closest city I just started performing burlesque, only had 3 shows but kept an online presence active and I've been recognized in bars

a complete stranger recognized me from an ad once. I was 16 and I had no idea what to say or what photo they were referring to.

I used to get recognized from a commercial I was in when I was 8 and to this day I've literally never seen that commercial

Thanks for the answer! Starting college can be a challenging experience, especially when it comes to navigating social situations and dealing with unwanted attention from your peers. This can also be true in a gaming environment, where players may sometimes receive unwanted attention from their fellow players.
This type of situation can be difficult to handle, and it can be helpful to understand the underlying social dynamics that may be contributing to the problem. According to the article at https://edudriver.com/test-answers/normative-age-graded-influences/, normative age-graded influences, such as peer pressure and social norms, can play a significant role in shaping our behavior and experiences in college.
In the gaming context, it may be helpful to consider the social norms and expectations of the gaming community and how they may be contributing to the unwanted attention you are receiving. Additionally, it may be helpful to reach out to a trusted friend or mentor for support and guidance in navigating these types of situations.
In conclusion, starting college and dealing with unwanted attention from your peers can be a difficult experience, but it's important to remember that you are not alone and there are resources available to help you navigate these situations.
