I will next time but I know she will start shit when I do.

She breast feeds which is fine and but she takes too long of pump breaks and at inconvenient times and when we called her out she used our cigarette breaks against us to the boss.

Even tho the difference is we can butt a cigarette out and come back in at any time. You can't when you're stretching out your time to watch tv on your phone in the bathroom pumping
she has to do it when she has to do it tho its painful to not do it when it needs to be done. its possible shes taking advantage of that to play with her phone yea but like you cant ask ur body to to pick more convenient times. there should be a rule in place that she cant bring her phone with her when she does it. i also wish there was a better place for her than the bathroom. like shes going into the bathroom the dirtiest part of the building to make her babies food thats sad to me i hate that for women.
Oh thank you she mentioned this before and I forgot

I'm out of touch with this kinda stuff as I feel very disconnected from the concept of motherhood and I'm ngl seeing how kids would interfere with my work like that makes me not want to have them

I still think she shouldnt watch vampire diaries while she does it but I should have more empathy
i think for me as a person who needs constant stimulation it would be really painful for me to not have my phone while doing something like breastfeeding. like being bored is almost physically painful for me lmfao. if she were watching your favorite show instead of vampire diaries would you feel differently about that situation? lolol.

i mean its normal to struggle to have empathy for someone who has been rude to you and then like also is inconveniencing you at work lol. like youre already being amazing here by acknowleeging that its possible youre missing some perspective on this.

yea imo you should start with the boss and not confront her about this. your boss might know her better too and be able tolike better understand her perspective and like the right way to confront her. maybe even say to the boss 'this persoon has said this about me and it makes me uncomfrotable and i need advice on how to handle this' like rather than asking the boss to handle it ask the boss how can you handle it yourself and the boss will be able to determine if you should conffront her or if the boss should step in. are you friendly enough with the boss ?

I think it just makes me mad because she has taken breaks while I was the only one alone with 8 ppl and was the one who was responsible for meds and she did it when she knew I was about to give a girl with dementia a shower when she really struggles to take them

Basically we need better communication because it is painful to carry breast milk and idk how mothers will small children work full time tbh

@Claire

First of all, do not apologize about the novel! I am flattered you care enough about my rant post to respond in such depth!

That is solid advice. Fortunately I am pretty friendly with the boss as she used to own a daycare that my mom took me to back in the day! Admittedly I am scared to talk about this as I don't want to risk a conversation about whether or not I am autistic. I don't want to talk about it. I'm going to be stubborn and confront this girl first and hope I don't have to go to the boss. I should probably listen to you but I'm an asshole. (:

Deep down I'm afraid people are gonna judge me possibly being autistic as a barrier to do my job which is dumb but I'm ngl.

I'm hoping she drops this shit but I have a feeling she won't.

As far as accommodation goes, I guess what I mean is I want to be viewed as capable and efficient and apart of the team as opposed to 'othered.' Does that make sense? As far as I'm concerned everyone is cool with people taking breaks (within reason, obviously) because this is a stressful and overwhelming job regardless of any disorders or quirks a person may have. In fact we encourage others to let other people take stuff on if it's too much for a certain person or if another staff is better with a resident or whatever. For example even the bosses are cool with staff chosing to not be responsible for doling meds if they're tired or whatever.

Also how did you know I hate Vampire Diaries lol

yea i think youre gonna be fine

i do feel like i ended up getting 'othered' at my last job after i came out about my adhd but like it was only One Person who made me feel that way they just happend to be at the Top of the Heirarchy lmao

another strategy could be to ask her like 'why do you insist on saying this. do you think saying this is helpful to me.' like confront with questioning her behaviors keep it about Her its not about You actually its about Her and what She is doing and not about whether or not you have autism its about Her

Of course someone on the top of the hierarchy othered you lmfao

Hmm, I was gonna say "you're not my doctor, regardless of if I'm autistic or not I'd appreciate if you'd quit bringing it up because my mental health isnt your business." What do you think?

Putting it on her instead of me is great advice. That I will take.

Also you never answered my question lol

Also you made a great point about accommodations Claire.

A coworker was concerned I was being "bullied because of my ocd" (I'm hella precise and triple check shit) and there was a part of me that was like "hey I can defend myself, I dont need protection" but I also felt... respected, like she admires my contentiousness and wants others to accept that's just... my thing.

This bitch however can fuck right off

i found out that people with adhd can develop ocd like symptoms to like counter our memory problems. im often overly precise because i HAVE to be because otherwise my issues with workingmemory make me look careless and since im not careless i like have to overcare to appear the same as others but others see it as like ocd behaviors. like im triple checking because my brain doesnt hold information long enough i have to double check.

I was like 8, I had just moved to a new town, went to two schools in only 8-10 months, went from apartment to house, mom had just married and was preggo

So yeah had no friends in new school, needed prompting to get my winter clothes on for playground, didnt even wanna play their games anyway I'd rather read or play my own games, ate pretty much only white food, and hated transitions/change

I get why they diagnosed me LOL
