I think something that was made with hundreds of hours of intent and care is a little different than grandmas collection of decorative plates you can't eat off of lol

I personally find crochet blankets awkward and uncomfy, my toes go thru the holes, and they're kinda scratchy. Hopefully making them into winter clothes gives some new life to things that were underappreciated.
Maybe I can line it with fleece so it doesnt feel so bad on my skin lol
