a new academic rival
Private
International star

found out my previous one has to retake at least 2 courses this year so i had to replace him. idk anything about this new person except that he finishes his exams fast and is the only other ai student besides me taking neurophysics this year. i was thinking of just going the lectures and just never taking the exam bc it's a 3rd year elective (we're both in our 2nd year so i don't need this course right now, also it seems hard D: ) but then i saw him and was like no, i can't let him be the only ai person to pass this course

and then i thought about it and decided that he seems like a good fit to be a new academic rival

excited to have a proper academic rival again

idk but seeing my previous academic rival study (last year) motivated me to study a bit longer as well. i like to think that he's just at home nerding out and every moment he gets smarter and smarter and i must defeat him like some videogame boss

i'm scared of failing courses in case of a situation like my maturecontentsection topic happens again D: when it did, i failed one course, almost failed another one and my teammates had to really carry my part of the project for the third course bc i was so mentally unwell. i'm trying to farm credits now that i feel okay again

but yes maybe! idk i've never talked with him but i nodded as a hi to him at today's lecture and then he sat next to me but i was too socially underdeveloped to realize that i should have probably said something afterwards GHJKLJKL. but he seems nice and i hope he's neurospicy like me bc he also does his exams in the neurospicy/dyslexia/etc exam room

i also thought that he must rly have some balls to sign up for a course that most of the third year ai students don't take either bc let's me real it's hard but then i realized that i was there too #girlboss?

i kind of want to do my master's in neuroscience instead of ai but then i'd most likely have to go into research and based on what my professors/guest lecturers have told, it seems rly competitive and it also involves unpaid work which i'm not a fan of

next time wont be too late to say something, even if its just hi and that u noticed u are both from the same major!! sitting down next to each other seems like good signs

and i understand throwing urself into ur studies after u had that situation ... but i think its better to drop stuff i u realize its too much after all and just take a year longer or so!! but u do what feels right

true!! i mean he didn't say anything either (though i was wearing headphones) but it could be because he's also a bit ✨ special ✨. i wonder if he's also interested more in the computational modeling/psych/neuro side of ai? most of my classmates are more on the tech bro side, though ofc would be nice to have ANY friends lol

yup, if any of these courses starts to feel drop-worthy, i'll do it. the extra courses i'm doing are meant for the 3rd year students so might as well do them on my 3rd year like i'm supposed to, if it comes to that
