we had some candy ready, but no one came this year. there are some who go, but theres no tradition for it.
it might be different in the cities, but in my experience its not super accepted here anyway because its foreign and we already have a similar thing that happens around new years

id never turn away trick or treaters its really weird to be that cold to kids i think, but i dont personally appreciate halloween being 'imported' here it has no meaning to us its just consumerism and american cultural influence idk

Yes

we've never celebrated halloween so we always put a sign up that says no candy. though i do always think i should get candy for the neighbourhood kids anyway and forget lmao

Some children do

I always lived in an apartment building with the front door is closed or in an area where we never got any trick-or-treaters. Few times some neighbor kids tried to get candy from my parents without even dressing up..

as a child i lived in a small village in the north of germany and trick or treating was pretty normal there
but all my friends from other parts of germany never did that and said it isnt really a thing in their hometown .... and now that i live in a big city i also dont see kids doing that either

i guess i was lucky i used to live somewhere where thats done when iw as small enough to have fun with that

Yes, but only candy

I did when I still lived at home because my parents would wear something scary/goofy and made it fun
I continued the tradition up u,ntil a few years ago but stopped because I threw out more candy than I gave away
Now, we dress up and go out instead

We had eight this year!! I was hoping for a few more, but it’s okay. They were very sweet. One year we had over thirty ahhhh

We had lots of candy this year so I let them take three things each. We had lollipops and little Trolli bags
