One issue that i dont really know how to approach would be about one member of our team. She told us she has mental health problems and sometimes doesnt come to imporant coachings or meetings and because she has quite an important role (as one of the 2 programmers) it drags the progress a bit down. The other programmer cant really take away from the tasks because once she does that the other will be out of the loop and eventually mess up some things since they are not that experienced.
She doesnt really make any effort to keep up with the meetings on her own if she misses any and its not really my job to keep reminding them to do their tasks. They are all adults and the least i expect is communication and keeping track of your own tasks and delivering them on time.
Im the last person who doesnt understand when people have problems or miss some meetings... If youre not on time with your tasks a few times thats okay i can adjust the plan to each persons workflow but i have a hard time approaching this situation in a sensible way that also doesnt drag down the whole team. I want to be understanding but this is a group project and everyone has a role to fulfill it wont be any different in an actual work environment. Especially when meetings are being missed because you oversleep or dont message anyone at all to ask for help on catching up etc.
I talked to her today and asked if everything is okay, they said they are fine for now but i fear this will happen again (it has happened quite a few times since the start of the project) but i dont think i can just ignore this problem. I already had a project where one person barely showed up to the meetings because of mental health and then they just completely stopped appearing by the end of the project but showed up for the presentation.
question would be how can i deal with this issue without sounding like a tyrant
