I also got to work at retail and I SWEAR I have the shittiest luck in picking workplaces, as half a year into working there I might have become a manager at my store (worked in 2 others as well) but the company went bankrupt and costumers just SCREAMED and demanded their online purchases and ofc...

and omg! I was the manager! so I told her that I'm the manager and because the company is bankrupt I have no option really to do anything because their cases of bankruptcy are being sorted by court and it was soso fucked up.
I had to once call the cops on a girl that stole a shoe from us, and it wasn't even her side smh.

the company I work for is in administration at the minute so I totally feel u!! We offer credit cards but since June we’ve not been allowed to pay off the accounts in store cos the card company made that decision and the DRAMA you would have thought I’d told them I’m cutting their eyeballs out the head or something!!

yeeppp but I'm positive because that means something good for me, I'm a great worker and can solve situations like this with ease, so fuck them.

and I was unemployed until the end of August, but then instead of going to the army because they've let me off, I decided to go to another route that's called national service, and actually gain experience in the field that I want to work in the future, so, for now, I'll be a museum guide at the house of our first prime minister, so it's kind of nice really.

So it's free experience, but sadly it's like a volunteering job so I only get some money for like necessities and such, but it's okay because, in the end, I'll get money for Uni, I'll be able to get a scholarship, I'll be able to start studying History & archeology, AND I'll be able to start working at the same time in that field as I'll have experience.

So worry not, I got things planned haha, so I'd like to think that I'm in a great place right now!

omg YES, it's like their mother just died,
a girl really called the police on me once in that store because I refused to give her back the money HA.
and after the policeman came and heard her story and mine (which was funny because the other customers there besides that crazy girl actually were on my size because... well I wish I could give it to her back but I couldn't?? or I'll have to deal with court lol

So the policeman told the girl that if she'll do something like this again she'll get fined for calling them for no reason pffffff
oh she also only bought shoes for 12 dollars that were on sale, not that I have a lot of money but she fought me like I just stole a million dollars from her and stole her husband lol.

OHh it really is! I just wish that this country won't collapse or anything but seeing as Israel just knows how to deal with the pandemic so perfectly.. oh well.

we'll see, but I'm sure as hell that I won't let it stop me from achieving my dream of being a historian, work in a real archive and restore ancient artifacts, and maybe even the main director of an archeology museum, gosh I'd die to work in a place like this.

How expensive is university in Israel?

I was actually very intrigued regarding history and archaeology as a child but I think my true call is most likely linguistics, I think it was right. I don't have any work experience tho.

Just tell them that you're not interested and that you're sorry, bring the phone away from you and hang up.
I know some people work in those jobs to like.. "survive", so they'll be super passionate about it but you need to live as well and got bills and.. life? so don't worry, if not you, someone else will answer them. trust me, my friend worked in that field and it just works like that.
