i haven't read the book!! i've only seen the movie and idk the questionable only makes it better imo because that's how life goes for a lot of teens & it's not inherently bad & every relationship is different and all that. in some cases it can def be bad but in cmbyn i think it's done really well
Yeah I enjoyed the movie for what it was, I don’t think every depicted relationship in media has to be hashtag unproblematic or whatever. The book just feels very iffy because it’s very like,,. Straight author romentasizes low key predatory relationship and gets lots of praise for it,,, like in the movie you don’t really get Elio fantasizing about getting low key SAd in the same way shshshshfjsk
