just some recommendations i guess i dont have the brain capacity rn to reply to the other questions

i haven't read the book!! i've only seen the movie and idk the questionable only makes it better imo because that's how life goes for a lot of teens & it's not inherently bad & every relationship is different and all that. in some cases it can def be bad but in cmbyn i think it's done really well
Yeah I enjoyed the movie for what it was, I don’t think every depicted relationship in media has to be hashtag unproblematic or whatever. The book just feels very iffy because it’s very like,,. Straight author romentasizes low key predatory relationship and gets lots of praise for it,,, like in the movie you don’t really get Elio fantasizing about getting low key SAd in the same way shshshshfjsk
hmmmmm thats so gross i hate that . i think i wouldnt like the book
All the more reason to like the movie tbh

i love when the movie is better than the book haha

Does anyone like art house/indie/strange films?
I can recommend these:

- Matterhorn (not strictly lgtbt+ on the first watch but there's a big reveal at the end and it's definitely queer)
- Wounded by the wind (a filmed theater play basically but without an audience. Two actors, almost everything happens in dialogue, heartbreaking film)

look i would say one of my favourite films is my own private idaho but its not exactly a feelgood lgbt movie

I feel like it's hard to find lgbtq+ content that portrays something wholesome and not problematic. Or I tend to find something wholesome but the storyline is dead aka something like sasaki miyano

I think Cutie Pie is prob one of the best representations I've seen lately. Everything is prefaced with consent and realizing and recognizing the difficulties in a relationship with a larger age gap. Unlike cough call me by your name cough which was was disgusting imo. But Cutie Pie def isn't one of my all time favorites

I mean but i'm a cheerleader is good and miseducation of cameron post was decent if I remember correctly.

Not me is prob my fave rn and if we are talking about "books" then twittering birds never fly

Though the Topic of LGBTQ in India  is not a very popular discussion and is still now a hush hush topic, but recently various initiatives are being taken in order to make  LGBTQ a normal thing in our society. Various Legal approaches are being established like the abolition of the Sec 377 from our Indian Penal Code on 6th September 2018 by the Supreme Court of India and its one of the most in famous judgment thus establishing Equal Right to Life to Every Citizen of India.

In Recent past or present not many movies on the topic LGBTQ are being made in our Country, but there are some handful of them, and one gem is the movie "Margarita with a Straw" its a 2014 movie.

Its a beautiful movie and i guarantee your soul will be satisfied after watching the movie.  The movie is based on the protagonist "Laila" a rebellious teenager girl suffering from cerebral palsy, its the movie where she finds her true self and it shows the real battle every homosexual people go through in some point of their life in order to identify its own sexuality. This movie is one hell of a rollercoaster.........You seriously need a whole box of tissue to sit and watch the movie.

The most favorite character in this movie is Khanum- she is a fierce independent character in spite of her being a blind girl who brings out the best and positivity out of her disability.
