I think for me sirupslagkage/syrup cake and marzipanroulade is some of my fav christmas food and a pretty huge deal in my family as it's linked with tradition :)

 

You know it's about to be december when your grandma' starts baking sirupslagkage because it has to be atleast a month (or a lil bit over) old before it tastes best :)



Tbh there isn't like one way to make marzipanroulade and the only "main" ingreadients for it is ofc the marzipan, nougat-filling and that you cover it with chocolate :) For example in my family it's covered in both white and dark chocolate and we fill it with nougat and cocktailberries, where as some might fill it with dates and nuts :)

They are really delicious and I would warmly recommend trying to make a marzipanroulade because it's kind of addictive when you first try it

Christmas ribs (which is a must)

and one thing I do miss and haven't had during christmas times are;
Olivier salad! My grandmother used to make those.
