I've heard that VP has become very nice, maybe exactly why bc the most dramatically inclined people moved to the other sites XD

Yes, vp is in the process of getting a new design + a lot of necessary updates. we don't know when the big update will be yet, but there have been small improvements in the interim

that rule (no talking abt other sites) was actually a kaj special, but he's gone and so is that rule

from mod perspective, vp is significantly less.... hmmm... unsettling than es and gsm, and we're also a lot more lax in many ways including rules and how we enforce them. but since we are kind of a small community, new users might feel a bit out of place unfortunately. i've also heard the argument that vp is a place of negativity, but i'd argue it's better than basking in toxic positivity

I actually left VP long ago bc I thought the groups had become very maffia-esc. XD I'm assuming it's not like that anymore otherwise shhhhh. Nevermind me. But I felt like it was very much like favoritism and stuff going on in the groups. (I get that it's not like anyone can go like "oh no it's actually still like that" though hahaha so it's not like I can actually know. )

yeah vp gets a lot of flack in ways that are totally blown out of proportion by people who are arguably worse hiding behind a curtain of morality. despite the claims that people here are terrible, id argue theres significantly less bullying and piling on people. it still exists, but maybe because of the smaller population, or maybe because we're more tolerant of mistakes, its definitely not so prevalent... who knows. most people who are actually bad actors get shut down

i think the lack of content and updates plus the somewhat clunkier wardrobe system compared to newer websites is stunting any growth we could have, but everyone who is here is fairly loyal so its like... we're not dying just a small closeknit group

I've actually heard more of the oposite about vp that it's much nicer than the other sites XD I haven't heard anyone saying VP is toxic in a long time?

Yeah I think that's the issue. I noticed you still have the "bug" where an outfit doesn't fully display on the preview doll bc it's weird with the layering. You know when you check the item and it links to the full set?

i kinda speak from experience too like my initial fumbles as a mod here were a byproduct of previously modding on much stricter sites, thus learning to be kind of a bitch abt it sigh,,, vp feels like fresh air in comparison. i do still yell when i need to tho lol

Do you think it's bc of the size of the community? I've been thinking so much about how to build a community that stays chill... like.. is any community just bound to fall into the same pattern as it grows? Is it even possible to have a big site that is still accepting of humans being humans? Cause' it feels like the rest of the big internet is also super harsh and unforgiving as a whole.

Yeah all of "us" overlap ofc. There's a point to be had that no drama at all also makes for a pretty boring site. I think the best thing is if drama is un-important and no one is getting bullied over it. Kinda like critiquing film or books? XD

The last developer was someone etjen hired off site who made an account and was interacting with us but they got sick, and now is working on the programming! We also have a few members per server of the core team who have been gathering our feedback and opinions and such, and so we've also been apart of the entire thing as opposed to nobody really knowing what's going on or having say! so that's been really nice

VP's current code is really bad so that's why it's been harder to update, but with the new design will come new code and better features!

the drama here is definitely not anything world shattering thankfully and i feel like it doesn't stop anyone from interacting with anyone else, so it's pretty balanced lmao

if you're used to gsm, maybe it's a different conversation! i think vp has a bad rep on es because of parrot being seen as bad and having come from here, as well as several notable banned designers from here who are poorly regarded because of past behaviour, so we're kind of seen as a lawless wasteland whenever i see us mentioned

yeah, i think that bug is mostly because of the Other layer being like... the very last layer which is so weird to me. as mentioned by others though we do have enbette at least which is exciting!!!

I basically quit gsm bc the people in control was basically the biggest bullies on the site XD and I don't have the patience for it. Like, we're dealing with corrupt people in power irl I don't need it in my pretend economy as well hahahaha.
