The future of this website

Ngl, your second life is a pretty cool website name.

Also, I really like the blog idea. It gets the whole community involved with something on the website which will make people feel more welcomed. (especially if you take a newbie's idea from time to time) rather than singling people out as Event Team, Pap team, mod team etc.

Also, there could be a "vp challenge". Not in a promotion way or anything but something really different.

I just thought of it. I am yet to figure out the details tbh.

I don't think you should get so distracted about changing the site to suit a small, niche market of older members. They're only here because they became attached to gsm when they were younger. You want to be pulling in more of those 11-15 year olds, making them stick around long enough to become those 18 year olds that still love VP

@res: No if we do this we need to do it good, we need to find out about what to write and it needs to be all original content so it is better to say like next week we will do an article about XXXX who can help with that? and then we can for each article choose the best member. Buy what software/website we should use that works best with google?

@six: okay indeed, let’s forget that is going to work. Instead use our weakness as our strength and find more people that rather talk anonymously without real life friends on the forums to make new online friends, lets promote the fact you can be anonymously, forget about your real live friends and get online, get on VP and start your second live <img src='/layout/nl/images/smileys/razz.png' alt=':p'> (which btw was a great name for a online community once).

Honestly I think it would be best, if you only choose one or two members. It would feel a little crowded and wierd, and ruin the whole "Blog-koncept". I mean, it reminds me a lot of the paparrazi crew inhere, and that sort of thing would be a lot more Facebook material...

I have some expirence with blogs, and I'm okay with codes and SEO, I like to use the program Wordpress, and I'm quite good at it. Also it works great with google, if you use the right plug-ins, the only thing needed is a website, and I THINK you can use this one, actually. Wordpress is free, btw, and is a blog program, with lots of things you can do with it. So wordpress would be a good way to go. :)
Also, I agree it shall be done right, but it will get so confusing for you, and the users, if it changes people all the time. Also, I think it would be a great succes, if you get one to blog, with a lot of ideas. I would gladly be that person, btw. Cause it would be so much more personal, and at the same time it would give the users something, and it would be a bit different from the paparazzi team on here, so it would be some kind of original. But if you would like to hear some of my ideas, and what I can do, I would gladly send you a mail?

I know word press a little bit, it is hard to figure it all out if you ask me. No I will not assign a few members to write things. I really like the idea anybody can contribute and it will not be a team/badge thing. But about the software I was thinking why use word press if we also can do the blogs on Virtual Popstar, like creating one blog account and redirect all the interested people about this topic form social media and such back to the blog ON this website, instead of direct them to the blog outside the website, and then trying to get them inside. Like we can do a topic about XXXX and then anybody will help to find people that like that topic, and tell them about what VP is and ask them if they would join the conversation. Maby we do  not even need to make blogs, just forum posts. And not the ones with 3 lines but really a cool post in blog form with over at least 50-100 lines of text

I think you are missing my point a bit. The fantastic thing about blogs, is that they are so easy to make (Not to write, and such), and a VP blog would be so original, in a kind of way. It would include users, be about users, be about anything else, the world have to offer, and have some funny and serious posts, like a real blog, but just where it always come back to the big theme, VP. So people, who don't know the site could get to know it, without even knowing that they are getting to know it. And when they search for something, that the blog has written about, it would pop up in google (maybe high, maybe low. Depends on the people who knows how to write correctly), and in that way they come in to a page, where they can read about that stuff. If it has good text on it, people is most likley to search around on it, and if there is content that appeal to the users, they will automaticly think about visiting VP, cause if the VP blog has it, the site must have something like that too. -And it does, the community! Other than that, the blog has the power to get SEO in a somewhat easy way, and SEO is a Search Engine O-something, and can do, so if done correctly, that the posts, and the blog, will be easy to find on google, and other serachers on the internet.

That is why it is so important, that it is only a few to do it, and that it have a website of its own, or a URL at least.

What you are talking about would, for me, seem a bit unproffesionel, and if I where about to go in to a "kids" (you know, popstar and dress up) website, I wouldn't care about the text, I would leave. So another reason it should have it's own site, and it's own layout (with VP style ofc)

Also, it seems a bit more awesome, for VP, to have their own blog. I haven't seen it anywhere else, where it is an OFFICIAL blog for a community site. But I get what you mean, I just don't think it is that great of idea, to do it that way.

Oh, and about wordpress. It's actually not that hard, if you just use some time, figuring it all out, or else the internet always holds the answer, when something doesn't do as you want.^^ I use it on my website. :)

Okay you are convincing me, maybe we do need a blog about VP but mainly to attract free traffic from Google. And I am getting the feeling you know a lot about this. It’s no problem to get a domain name and of course we can install wordpress on our server I have FTP access so if you tell me what to do we can get this done. So then you can become part of the social media team and take care of the VP blog but we need more help with creating the articles since one person (me or you) only know about a few topics and other players know a lot about other topics. Like I know a lot about paranormal things which I know are of interest of a lot of teenagers but I don’t know SHIT about pokemon, which I know also needs an article haha so we really need to have imput from other users to broaden the topics you must understand the importance of that

Yes, my point exactly :d
I know a big deal. I mainly use my time on the internet, making such things... xD
I can tell you that, ofc. I'm sending a mail after this post. And ofc, we need help, BUT the great thing about the blog, and VP is that it's so easy to ask inhere, if anyone have ideas, and such, and there can always be guest posts on the blog, but it just needs one person to administrate it. :)
So yes, I understand^^

Res, We already have a blog for VP made by the Social Media team, However I DO need help with coding especially if you know HTML + CSS + Photoshop/gimp, etc so we could work together and create a theme and such and we are working as a team to get the people who run the blog to get more precise language with targeting skills I have posted which is basically just a few English basics that captivate an audience, I.E

Message me sometime and we can work together to build a proper theme and I will contact the others who run the blog to get their opinions because I really like your knowledge of coding and I do need help. :)

Oh, I did not know, but... I wouldn't quite call tumblr a blog? And I see that it only is about VP, wich is more a kind of a fansite, than the kind of blog I was hoping to achieve... but maybe that's just me?
And is it not a kind of waste of money to buy that site, btw? Cause with wordpress as a blog tool (example) you get it for free ON this domain, just with something behind the URL, where you can still use tumblr as a free thing, without paying, if you keep the little tumblr part, and let it stay like a fan site of a kind. I don't really know, I could be totally wrong... But what I saw about your "blog" was that it is not what I think about, when saying VP blog. Maybe we should just wait to Kaj logs on again, so we can clear this mess a bit out? Cause this is two different things, under the same "name" and maybe it wouldn't hurt to get both? I mean.... the more different things VP have to offer, the more interesting it becomes, and the easier it is to find on the internet. :)

@Res:
We resorted to Tumblr because of its popularity among the teenage youth and age groups, wordpress isn't something that's huge in English speaking countries among the youth group but more to adults - If you see what I'm aiming at? We're aiming to get users within our age-group to participate on the website We've only just started the use of our Social Media pages too such as Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr so it's not quite ready yet. We are aiming to get our followers to contribute aswell as having daily contests in the future, but it's under construction. We are planning to make How-To tutorials all about dedicated to getting around and using VP, also POTW (which I can't reveal yet.) Your ideas are fantastic but I do feel as if the English VP is a bit too small to have two 'blogs' running as we might just stick to one for now but yes it is totally up to Kaj. :d

<img src='/layout/nl/images/smileys/lol.png' alt=':d'>

Ofc, I see where you are at. (: But wordpress isn't something that will be seen, it's only a tool to use, a program, that makes it easy to make a awesome page, that is easy to find on google, and the layout is also easy to do. It would be an "ordinary" page, in that kind of way. But I see your point^^
But do you also think about, getting outside the box, of only having VP realted articles? Cause it is where the gold is, that is where people from the outside comes in on the blog, and find out how interesting the site could be.^^ Cause the difference between a fan site and i blog is huge. A fansite is mostly (if not only) about the subject, the site is dedicated too, where the blog would be a all-around kind of tool, where there could be written anything and everything AND there could be, as I wrote in one of my earlier posts with Kaj, SEO on it, so it would be easy to find, and some things you just can't do as well with other social media sites. A fan site would talk to the users there are already there, where the blog would speak to users yet to come, if you see what I mean? (:

And I see your point yet again, but as I try to say, there is a huge difference on the kind of blog you are doing, and the kind of blog I had in mind. So yea, let's wait for Kaj... xD

I think the forums should stay as they are. its because if it is for the grown up girls on here, then the normal threads would be DEAD.

And thats exactly what we're trying not to do.

Admin don't make anymore terrible decisions.

I agree.
