That is a good point, however, there are more reasons for us making the deadline this long, giving time to those on the fence, those that take some time writing a lot, and for us to polish the boot camp so that the users that would take part in it, would have something clear, enjoyable and knowledgable

besides that, as you said, boot camp and trial are important so we must ensure that we have a proper structure for the Boot Camp and trial, to train our mods to the best of our abilities.
