Guys..... it's literally just a place to rant that's more controlled and easier to recognize what a threads content will be about. It's what everyone wants so they don't have to click on some thread and be like oop-*exits*
in no way are we saying or creating a place that's like anyone who replies to u their response is gods words take it and do what they are saying. The thread will most likely have a sticky post linking u to real resources

the same rules will exist in this separate place

idk what you guys are thinking it's gonna be

you have to imagine the dumbest possible interpretation of the things you do as a mod. you need to talk to the dumbest person in the audience.

what happened to making the really sick people use personal threads? you guys seem to have stopped doing that but it wasn't the worst solution.

Nobody wants to use them. We have a similar problem with mature content, nobody wants to use it because they want updated responses and attention to their problems

It's basically a quick solution that doesn't last

That sounds like a them problem? If you ask someone to do something and they don't- you punish them. They either learn to do what their told or they end up banned.

Why do we think any of these other solutions will work any better than that solution?

If someone is so desperate for attention that they refuse to use a personal thread- what makes us think they'd stay in a dedicated thread?

Obviously they get punished but that doesn't mean they care. Peoples attention doesn't last in their personal thread and we aren't going to be keeping track of every single persons personal thread and then be like oop go back to it. This thread will satisfy their attention needs and they can make as many as they want. A lot of peoples posts get lost and they really want attention/help for their problem and this way there's an easy to notice icon and whoever wants to post some encouraging words or try to help can. It's not like mature content as ur limited on who is able to join because everyone will be able to click on it or look it they want

You might end up with only the other really sick people going into the thread. Will you guys be volunteering to be positive forces in the thread or will you allow them to create a- for lack of a better word- a circlejerk.

Like if the problem with personal threads is “I don’t get enough attention” then the alternative solution should solve that problem.

As moderators already reach out to the people who make these threads i'm sure if anything happened we could be present in the threads directly

Someone has probably said this.
But the best would be if it didn't show up on the front page. You could only see them if you go into the specific section. Or as someone said, subscribe to it.
I don't wanna change record label so that's not an option for me personally^^
There something in the FAQ already, the only way that we could currently keep this content clear of the front page is by using a record label. We can ask kaj for changes but based off of the tools we have atm that would be the only solution.

The original plan for the MCR was to be temporary until it gets its own dedicated forum section, I think if anything thats what should be turned into a thread category, and mental health could be a topic on there.

I think a forum would be nice. Idm it coming up on the front page, all people will see is the title of the forum and maybe a few words anyway. That way itøs much like people can "opt in" if they want to

A lot of people here are confused about the matter, yeah.

It is gonna be the exact same as now - except there will be a place for everyone to talk about their issues, so that people who don't want to be a part of it, doesn't have to. It'll not make our advice better, to anyone with suicidal thoughts or shit like that, obviously.

Not everyone is mentally strong enough or can deal with the talk of others problems. And just cus there's a seperate place for the subject, doesn't change the purpose of this website. But the thing is, the majority likes to be here, cus it's a free space. Everyone is allowed to talk about their issues, whether it's a site about clothing avatars or a site where you get professional help. Doesn't matter where you are. I am sure the ones coming here with their problems have an idea of what the rest of us can actually do for them, considering we aint professional psychiatrists or shit like that lol.

It'd definitely be great to have a "hidden" place for the subject

If this has been asked, my apologies

At times there's a long wait for mod response when conflict happens in the general forum. How would the mod team manage to serve it's purpose there when at times it can barely maintain the regular forum?

To be clear, the team can attempt to ban people for their conduct, but it's a false threat.
What if another "picturegate" (or something similiar) occurs? Yes, y'all will fake ban them (at least 13 x and still going for one user) but for someone in maybe a fragile mental state, the damage has been done.

I'd certainly adopt my countries frivolous lawsuit mindset and try to seek financial compensation from Kaj, Jess and every mod on the team.
Over the top and dramatic but y'all will figure it out once someone truly gets fucked up.

I'm done with this mess.

If someone is so fragile, that someone online is enough, to damage the person, they should not be here in the first place. They should get professional help and focus on themself. Being online, the media etc. It comes with a certain self management. The world should not adjust to one mental illness, cus it'd impossible. It is not the moderators jobs, to keep someone from damaging themself, it is their job to keep a certain ease and order in the forums, which it seems like is not the easiest for them, no, but it is their only job. They cannot serve us like any professional psychologist and they cannot just ban someone. There's consequences and it takes time - but it aint easy. See it as a law and order sort of thing. No one here wants anyone to get hurt, but if one is on the internet, it is no ones fault.
