i know lime is good as a chaser for tequila. i remember hearing something about citrus being good at canceling out alcohol tastes

Yeah, I think it might be because alcohol feels very heavy in ur mouth in a way, like even just vodka or even ciders!, have that heavy feeling? So something acidic might help with that

I struggle with it now, the first few sips r fine but after that I start gagging (I also gag when I eat smth when I drink so im not sure its the alcohol or just my stomach being fucky). I could drink it pretty much like water before but now I start gagging and nose runny and the whole shabang uknow lmfao
