Honestly, online shopping isn't a problem at all, it's which websites you buy from that are. And by buying their products, you are giving them and supporting exploitation and destruction of the environment.
It's possible to find good online shops, 2 of my favorites are QWERTEE, geek t-shirts designed by any inspired artist who often gives discount to people with an account. And Large by EMP is also selling good quality clothing and accessories, mostly alt fashion. They are a bit expensive, but the quality is really impressive, it's totally worth it.
Shein is exploitative, destroy the environment, and the quality is so poor that it's not worth it at all. Same for Wish. Same for Amazon. Same for Temu, except that you can add that the platform is watched closely for potential malwares and misuse of users' datas (the owner already had issues with one of his previous platforms because it was discovered that it was full of malwares).
If you really want cheap clothes, thrift is way more worth it than Shein. The quality is better, if you have some knowledge about old clothing you may find gems insanely underpriced for what they are, it's also fun to feel like you're scavenging for a hidden treasure, and it feels good once you found a piece you find that is cheaper, comfier and smell better than if you bought it brand new. And if you're not doing that already, you can also try to learn how to modify clothes. You will feel less bad if you mess up because it was cheap, you learn a new skill, and if you succeed you end up with a unique piece of clothing that you like !
It would be kinda immature to judge you for your choices, because we don't know you very well so we can't assume anything about your life. But since we live in a fucked up world, it's important to keep reminding people that every small action counts to try to make it a better place.
(I know that some people think I'm mad or something when I write whole paragraphs, so I'm just adding this to say that it's not the case at all ! It just felt like something important to point out, and because I don't think you deserve any judgement for your choices)
imma have to check out qwertee and geek t shirts i might try to trift but im broke i dont use temu becasue of the whole malware thing and if I ever do go shopping I mostly like buy dark clothes or buy big baggy clothes and people stare at me like im doing something wrong and i always think the worst and my socail anxiety kicks in to and i get really scared for no reason 😭😭😭.
