does anyone here have experience with press on nails

ive had a reusable set once but i struggled sooo mugh to get them off

and i tried to apply a set yesterday, but this time i used glue tabs instead of the nail glue and it just ??? didnt stick well?? i could just rip them off n then i was sad and idnt try to reapply

how tf are u supposed to take them off if they are glued on tho  because the warm water bath that 1 million youtube videos try to sell me does NOTHING  (and like, wouldnt taking a shower or washing ur dishes pop them off if it did?)

You'll need to use 100% acetone. File the surfaces of the nails so they're matte, and then soak them with acetone. This will dry out your nails but if you have a nail oil or a moisturizer you should be okay. When you apply them, it's also important to dehydrate your nails with acetone so there aren't any oils from your skin getting in the way of the adhesive sticking.

glue tabs are superior because they wont damage your natural and fake nails when taking off nail glue but you have to use them correctly. First prep your nails and remove as much moisture as you can. Buff them a bit with a nail file. Then put the glue tabs on make sure to get all the air bubbles out. Then apply the nails, same thing, no air bubbles. Now the most important step, use a hair dryer and blow warm air onto your nails that you glued on. This will make the glue stick to your nails and it will harden once its dried. They stick like a week for me and i wash my hair with them etc. Just be a bit careful to not get them stuck bcs heavy force can rip them off. One tip if you do your own press on nails, use tips with a rough surface below the nail bcs it will make glue tabs stick better.

thank u nail queen

i buffed my nails before and used like one of those alcohol swipes to clean the dust off afterwards, idk why the glue tabs just did like ... nothing ... like it did hold normally but i could easily just get under the edges and peel them off
maybe the hair dryer trick will help with that, i dont wanna give up on glue tabs because of the no damage to nail and natural nail like u said. when i removed my first set that i did with normal glue i had glue reisude on all my nails that drove me crazy and was hard to get off completely

As someone who uses fake nails even I am learning from these replies.

Does someone know how you remove the nail glue on the backside of the fake nails after taking them off, without damaging the nails? I often get 'nail glue bumps' on them. So far only sanding it off has worked. Not even pure acetone

heat expands the glue and when it hardens it sticks to your nail but have you checked if maybe the size is wrong? sometimes if they are a little bit too small on the edges, they tend to fall off quicker.

the tabs are like waay too big (long) so i had to cut them like ... in half because i have very short nailbeds
on the sides u used some additional glue because thats what the brand (doonails) recommends. they didnt say anythig abt heat maybe helping in their tutorial video ...      also they removal video just says "just put them in water with oil" which DOESNT DO ANYTHING !!!!  if it did they would popp off every time u wash ur hair !!! also the oil just sits atop the water and never touches ur nails. so dumb

if you used them with nail glue that might be why idk i never heared about glue tabs being too big thats interesting. I usually remove glue tabs with just normal warm water and lift the nails a bit so the water can get beneath the glue and if its a bit hard to get off, i use a toothpick and lift the nail up a bit.
