Nathan kicked his shoes off so he could swing his legs up onto her bed without dirtying the sheets, he had already ruined enough of her dorm room for one day. He didn't expect the reaction that followed what he had said and he wrapped his arms around her, stroking her hair softly with one hand. How could no one care about this girl? She was simply incredible and he had only known her for such a short period of time, "well I care.. and .. god it sounds daft considering we just met today but before I found you after your ordeal, I found myself still thinking about how you were doing." he paused for a moment before adding, "not in a creepy way, I just felt like we really connected earlier."

Maia pulled the duvet over him as he swung his legs in, a small grateful smile on her lips as she nuzzled into his warm body, a chill running through her spine. "Well.. I've never really had that before. I've never really met anyone like you before, either. You're different Nathan, and I like it." She admitted, sitting up a little bit more and looking up at him, biting didn't on her bottom lip. "No no no I get it.. Like we just click, don't we? It's so cool. Plus.. I just feel like I can be more me. Not have to put up a wall and block you out, like I do with everyone else." She lay her head back down on the pillow, resting her hand on his lower back.

Nathan felt her body shiver slightly, so he rubbed her arm with his hand to try and warm her up a bit more. "yeah we really do click, and it's a very unlikely connection but I'm glad we have it." he said with a smile as he looked down at her. "well we don't have to build a wall between us because I like you exactly how you are. although of course I wish you weren't in pain right now." he let his head rest against the other pillow, not wanting to let himself get too close to her as to not intrude in her space. "tell me Maia, how come you ended up at this freak show of a school?"

"Normally I have to be in my dorm by 9pm, I have this little thing in my phone.." he pulled his iPhone out his pocket and unlocked it with his thumb, scrolling through his apps he opened one up. "This here monitors everything. Every movement, every action, anything. It's like god is actually watching my every move. But he's far too busy to actually do that." Crossing his legs at his ankles, he looked over at Elizabeth. Grinning slowly, "what exactly did you expect?"

Maia pushed her hair from her face and neck, wincing as her fingers brushed past the bite marks. "Well yeah me too but apart from that, I could definitely get used to no wall up." She agreed, pulled the duvet up over both of them, rolling to face him, her nose resting on his shoulder. "Well it's a bit of a long story.. I wasn't the most well behaved girl ever, as you probably could have guessed. I went a bit off the rails so to punish me my parents sent me here, they refuse to talk to me until I've cleared up my act." She sighed quietly.

Nathan let his eyes gaze over her as she winced, wishing he could take away the pain she was clearly suffering from. "I've got all night," he said softly, letting her talk. "That sounds a bit harsh, I'm so sorry it must be awful not being able to even talk to them." He paused, stroking her hair softly with his fingers, "can I ask what it was you did that caused them to do this?"

He closed the door and turned back to here resting the bag in her bed. "It mot definitely would, yes. Like I said, everything that I say do not, it's all noted and judged." Ripping the bag open, he pulled out his food and stag back down in the chair. "I mean y wardrobe is naturally lighter colours."

Maias smile widening as she relaxed a little more, one hand absent minded lay on his chest, the other underneath her, her fingertips resting on her stomach, trying to stop the butterflies. "it's not so bad, me and my father have never seen eye to eye and my mom just agrees to everything he says." She admitted, and couldn't help but laugh as he asked exactly what she did. "Stayed out too late a few too many times.. sneaking into clubs since I was 15.. hanging out with an older crowd. The final straw was getting arrested."

Nathan lay patiently listening to her, "that's so shit," he said simply before adding, "I dont really know what it's like to have parents. Mine were both human and somehow they had me and I was shape shifting with no control from 6 months old and they gave me up to a care home the next day." He sighed slightly, before listening to her story again, "you really were a rebellious girl huh," he chuckled, trying to lighten the mood a little, "well I'm glad you were.. otherwise we wouldnt have met"

Pulling out his chow mien and spring rolls and resting them on the desk, he picked up his fork and began twirling the noodles around slurping them up. "I mean kissing isn't completely prohibited but it's what kissing leads to that I'm banned from." He laughed softly, glancing over at her. Locking eyes silently, he cleared his throat and quickly and looked away again.

Maia realised how much she was talking and giggled, her cheeks going a little pink. "Sorry, shut me up if you need to. I could waffle on forever without even realising." She stayed quiet while she listening to him, her brows dropping slightly. "Well that's not very fair is it.. have you never tried to get into contact?" She asked, burying herself a little deeper into the duvet. "Imagine, if you hadn't have broken into here we'd probably have never met."

A smile spread across Nathans lips as he saw her cheeks go pink and from hearing her giggle, she sounded so sweet and pure in that moment. "no need to apologise! I could listen to you waffle on for ages," he chuckled to himself a bit. "Yeah, I tried for a bit once I was old enough to leave the care home without being adopted, but there was no trace of them. It's like they just wiped their existence from the earth, don't really blame them. They must have been embarrassed of me." he sighed softly, before shaking his head, "well I do wish we had met under better circumstances.. maybe it was fate that it happened this way."

Maia reached over him to her bedside table and grabbed her glass of water. Sitting up slightly and sipping the cup, she wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and lay back down next to him, getting a little closer. "I dunno how they could ever be embarrassed of you, I think what you really is amazing, like you can literally turn into anything or anyone.. it's brilliant." She smiled brightly, curling up beneath the duvet. "Oh well, it all worked itself out in the end didn't it."

Nathans voice trailed off for a moment as he watched her take some water. "it really did, Maia." he smiled at her, roughing his hair about and shuffling in his jeans to get a bit more comfortable under the duvet. "if you want me to stay tonight I can sleep on the floor if you'd like some space. just let me know alright?"

I mean I've been lying here chatting to you and admiring your very well chiselled jaw and it might not even be you, how disappointed I would be." She joked, moving over a little bit, she hesitated before her next sentence. "No I'd really like you to stay tonight, but you don't need to sleep on the fooor, you'll be cold. Here with me is fine, I promise." Her smile a little bit more coy.

Nathan couldn't help the smile he now had, "so you've been admiring me have you?" he ran his fingers across his chin and along his jaw. "lucky for you this is all really me." as she spoke he nodded his head, "as long as you promise its okay then I shall stay. but I'm just going to nip to the bathroom, be back in just a moment princess." he said before slipping out of the bed and vanishing into the bathroom. He did his bathroom business before washing his hands and looking at himself in the mirror and running his hand along his jaw again before smiling, feeling genuinely happy that a girl he rather liked had been admiring him. Once he had composed himself he headed back into the main body of her dorm room, switching off the main light and turning her bedside light on, "hope you didn't miss me too much" he said jokingly.

Maia shook her head quickly. "I didn't mean it like that.. uhm.. just.. oh whatever." Laughing it off, she sat back up when he got out of bed, giving her a chance to get a little bit more comfortable and make a bit more room for him to lie down in the bed. A large sigh falling from her lips, she pulled the duvet up to around her neck and closed her eyes for a moment. Thinking the evening over. Opening her eyes when he came back, she gave him a small grin. "Hmm, I think I just about coped, thank you. Are you comfort now?" She looked over at him.

"Very, your bed feels like lying on a marshmallow its incredible," he paused for a moment, his head rolling to the side so he could see her better, "are you feeling any better?" He spoke in a very soft voice now.
