Venus nodded at him as he went to call, sitting herself down on the couch gingerly. A while later, three police cars had pulled up outside of their apartment, and two men and a young woman came to the door. She felt a bit better that there was a woman there, and not just men...that was just...awkward and strange, uncomfortable. They asked a few questions, took some pictures of her. Not much of a big deal. They asked for his name..."Daniel...Daniel Richardson. Just...don't tell him I said anything, okay? Please?" The woman looked sympathetic and nodded slowly, a small smile forming. "We won't. We just need to get him off the streets, okay?" Venus nodded and tugged at her hair, the officers leaving the room. The quiet overcame them, and all of a sudden a tear fell, then two, three...Jace came and held her, let her cry into his shirt. She was crying more because she was free now, able to leave what she didn't even want in the first place.
Mason turned away for a minute, just to think, to set things straight. Did he love her? Of course. Did he want her back? More than anything? But did he think she needed to leave? Yes. They needed time apart. Nothing would get better if they didn't allow each other to have some space and relax, get rid of the constant fighting. "All right." he said to her, turning back now. He took her up into his arms one last time, needing to feel her there once again. "I promise you, I'll be here." he whispered to her, kissing her with all the passion their fighting had had for the past month or so. "I promise."
