BTW does castor oil really work for hair growth?
I experimented a bit with hair growth once (completely unscientific). I measured my hair for a month without doing anything in particular, to see that my hair grows at a rate about ca. 1cm a month. Thats pretty normal.
I ate vitamins for a months, and that made no difference. Even the type of vitamins claimed to increase growth.
And then I tried scalp massage. I forgot it most days, but did it several times a day, a few times a week for a month. That month my hair grew 2cm!
I haven't tried castor oil, but I'm not sure how it would work though. I think it might be the same arguments as the vitamins. It probably doesn't make your hair grow
faster, but it decreases the risk of breakage and damage, leaving the hair stronger and healthier. At least thats my theory.
But just applying stuff in the hair won't effect new growth, as hair is dead. Its what happens to the scalp or inside your body, that determines something like growth speed. Maybe the oil helps due to the scalp massage, I don't know. All I know is, the scalp massage works due to increased blood flow in the scalp. Exercise will have the same effect. Oil might make massaging easier, I don't know (but in that case, I figure any kind of oil for hair could work).
This is what I thought too! But I think it's something with the castor oil that makes something with the scalp. You have to massage the scalp with it, and then leave it for 20min. Something must happen under this time. Idk man
