I dont agree, its kind of the same as saying ppl only wear makeup to attract partners, like ugh ok
i guess it's different for everyone. some people do it as a form of art, but there are def people who do it to look beautiful and hide their features/enhance others so
Yes but u dont think they should be worthy to speak abt self love cus they are altering their appearance to their own preference, its the same thing as plastic surgery
hm, i personally think it's just not what self-love is if you take the wearing makeup to an extreme

Oh mayb im stupid, what is the difference
i don't know
Ok so its pretty much the same thing idk
Those with body dysmorphia have a distorted view of how they look, while those with gender dysphoria suffer no distortion. They have feelings of anxiety and depression, as they truly know who they are on the inside, despite this not fitting with their biological sex.
interesting, i don't think i agree but whatever they feel like to describe illnesses i guess

I have thought about this a lot and i just don’t know what’s my opinion
and how about makeup which people wear not only for the sake of art and hobby but also to feel prettier
and tattoos? i certainly loved my body less before i had any
i guess if you really can't exit the door without having a lot of makeup on then that's also bad
Yeah probably
and that’s pretty common i think
and with tattoos, i feel like having a tattoo is different bc it's not like you're hiding something else. but then also people get tattoos to cover scars so it's a very murky area so i understand your point.

So u can't love yourself if you go to the gym, pluck your eyebrows, cut and/or color your hair etc in your eyes

isn't tattoos very largely covering up things, like the actual look of the skin. you can be really nit-picking in this area it's hard to tell tbh

i think someone else brought this up too. i think 'go to the gym if you want your dream body' is a different message to send than 'get plastic surgery if you want your dream body'

Yeah i agree
like it’s not hiding something it’s changing it completely

idk that mathematical formula, that 3,16 thing or whatever i don't do maths are usually attractive to everyone, we like when thing is proportional, everything that isn't is like "wrong" and unsettling
if you say beauty is what the majority finds attractive, then morality is also what the majority finds okay. but that's not true either. morality is also different for everyone
no, what i'm saying now is that for example it's overall prettier if someone is proportional, it's odd if someone has one arm that's like 1,20 meters long and one arm that's 1 meter long. it's weird if one of your eyes is placed at the middle of your head and the other one is next to your mouth
i think the word you're looking for is  c o m p o s i t i o n

Don't know if it has come up already, but not every lastic surgery is "bad" like you put it.

Sometimes it can be great for people. Women that had to get a mastectomy don't have to live with the visual reminder of them losing their breasts.
People with malformations can escape the pain it causes them to look into the mirror and know they look different and may even be shunned for it.

Of course, just getting a fat reduction because you don't feel like working out it silly, but then again, it sometimes makes people happy. And are you reall to judge what makes some happy? Because not everyone ruins themselves to become a better or more beautiful version of themselves and not everyone gets hooked on surgery.

I get it, that media and social perception makes it easier to choose plastic surgery as an out of an unhappy situation without looking at the true cause of your unhappiness. But that doesn't make plastic surgery something bad. It makes society something bad.

But why do u think that, why is getting plastic surgery any different than going to the gym if getting the dream body is your goal. Why can you preach self love if you did it through the gym but not through plastic surgery when the outcome is the same

might be seen as the "lazy way out"
though I don't think we really are allowed to judge based on that

yeah these people have been acknowledged, there's nothing wrong with doing that if you've approaching it that way since it's the healthiest way. the problem is the marketing targeting insecure people, people who don't fit into the bolded description, people with too much insecurity that cannot possibly be fixed by changing a few features. that's what's bad, because things mostly just get worse for them instead of better.
