Hello Careless, thank you for agreeing to do the interview! I’ll start with the questions now. What’s your name and how long have you been in VP for?My name is Phie and I am in VP since.. Spring 2014, I guess. I started on the German server but I came here in August 2016. c:
I love your name! It’s so unique! Oh really? I’m glad that you came here to the English server to grace us with your lovely designs c:What are your hobbies?Oh well, besides drawing and hanging around on VP I don't have any hobbies, to be honest, haha.
Hanging around VP can be a hobby, haha. But drawing is definitely a hobby and I can imagine how great your artwork must be since your designs are flawless.What’s your favorite thing to do?Oh that's hard to answer, but if I need to choose one of my favorite activities, I'd say going to a flea market and searching stuff out of the 19th century to decorate my room with! ;3
I love going to the flea market as well. The things you can find in their is astonishing and it’s kind of like finding hidden treasure in a way. Anything from that era is so beautiful, especially the intricate details of the furniture. I bet your room looks amazing!What’s one thing you would never eat?Fried insects, ew, gross! >.<
Haha same. Insects in general though are definitely an ew for me.What do you use to design? Like tablet or mouse wise?Both! I do the outlines with the mouse, but I shade with the tablet!
Omg that’s amazing to do designing with not only the tablet but with the mouse as well! You’ve definitely earned my respect there!What program(s) do you use to design?I use paint tool sai!
Paint tool sai is an amazing program and glad to see that many designers, such as yourself, use it!How did you get into designing?Uff, let me think.. On goSupermodel there was this designer function! I made my first design in the age of.. 12 or 13 I think. And then a friend of mine told me that on VP they are searching for designers, so I tried to make my first design for VP and that's how it all started! xD
You were so young to start designing! You must’ve been practicing and polishing your skills for ages! Glad that you came to VP and brought along your amazing talents c:What inspires you when designing?Most times Japanese fashion or BELIALs design requests forum, haha. :p
Japanese fashion is so lovely! And haha c: Forums such as BELIAL’s always bring up creative clothing ideas, so I see why you look at them.How do you get into the mood of designing?Well, I have no clue.. xD It's like, if I see something I really want to design and / or wear by my own (that's the reason why I mostly design for males) I am really keen on creating it! So basically it just happens. ^^'
Ah so more like in the moment type of thing? And haha that’s good, though, you can wear what you have in real life and twin your VP avatar with yourself c:What was one of your first item/set that you have made?This was my first design I made for VP. It was the design I wanted to take part in the designer contest on the German Server. I was really afraid of designing hair, that's the reason, why she is bald. ;w;
The design is so lovely and so good! The eyelashes are so well done too! And aw haha c: I understand but she’s cute bald either way!Are there any items that you love that you have made?One of my favorite self-made items in this game is this pullover, because I have it on my own in real life and I think it turned out amazing!
Also I love all these items so bad, I can't decide which one I like most x:
All those items are so pretty and amazing! I definitely love the pull over as well!Do you have any tips/tricks for new upcoming designers?Yes! First: Never give up and always try try try! If I am not happy with something I designed I do it again and again and again and sometimes I designed 7 different hairs until one turns out that is better than the others!
Also if someone says things like "Oh, that's so bad!" or "Stop to design, you can't make it anyways!" don't listen to them! You always have the ability to improve yourself, don't let you put yourself down because of some douchebags! But if they give constructive criticism to you accept it and try to improve!
A really good tip that helped me improve myself, too, is to look really close at designs other designers made. You can look at the shading, the way the outlines were set, but
never ever copy the work of someone!Those are some great tips and very inspirational words! I hope many new upcoming designers read this and get inspired!
Those are all the questions, and I want to thank Careless for being so patient and kind enough to spend some time on this interview and also letting us (NT and ET) use your amazing designs! I greatly appreciate it as well as the rest of NT and ET and I know that the community does as well!
