Happy Sunday guys!
Hailee here bringing you into the dark and twisted world of a conspiracy theory. For those who don't know what a conspiracy theory is, it's basically when a group of people thinks that strange events have been plotted from a larger group with more power (i.e. the government, the Illuminati). I've always been fascinated with conspiracy theories; I think the first major conspiracy theory that I heard of was the one of Area 51.
Today I'm here to share a few of the lighter conspiracy theories that are out there in the world because trust me, some of them can get very dark and will freak you out! If you know any conspiracy theories or know of some that just freak you out, feel free to share them with me!
Do you ever watch tv, and suddenly start to crave something? Or get the urge to eat or drink out of the blue? A lot of people say that subliminal messaging is to blame for this. For those who don't know what subliminal messaging is, it's when a hidden message or picture is placed on music, film or text. Most of the time, you won't even be able to see the message, but your brain picks up on it! It only takes a millisecond for our brain to realize what they have just seen, this is why in movies, it is common for a director to include frames for a split second of something that possibly shouldn't be there.
I've added a youtube video with some of the top subliminal messages in movies!
A subliminal message can even be in the form of a scent. It has been rumored that big retail stores will use different scents to make you stay in longer and spend more. A store with a great floral scent will often urge the customers to buy more than they had planned. While a citrus smell will attract the customers into staying longer and spending more! Now, I'm not saying if this is true or not, but haven't you ever noticed how stores have a particular smell to them?
Another thing that is big with subliminal messages is ad placement. For example, a large group of kids is hanging out, and in the background, someone will be drinking a bottle of Pepsi. It's a small nod to the company, and also gives them a bit of advertising. Some companies have set up contracts so that they will be featured in movies or tv!

Okay, now this one may seem a bit silly, and you may not believe it! I even found this one weird, but it's pretty creepy when you start to read more into it. So there is a belief that our great leaders of the world aren't who they say they are.
Now, this does not only include people in power, such as a someone with a government position. Some of the world's biggest influential people are thought out to be lizard people. So yes, this even means your favorite movie star or singer. If you're wondering where this theory comes from, it was originated in 1999 from a BBC sports writer David Ickle.
Ickle believes that over twelve millions of these reptilian creatures rule the world, the point being that once they are in power, they will take off their human 'skin' to reveal their true identity to the world. It is unclear of where these creatures came from, as some believe that they came from a distant planet. Other's believe that they were here on earth before the existence of humankind.
The most common way that people have found out about this, is they've noticed on camera sometimes someone will blink their eyes, but when they open back up, you aren't seeing human eyes. I don't like watching videos like this because they scare me to death, but the one's I have seen include Obama, Justin Bieber, and the Pope.
None of us know why they are here, are they trying to take over the world? Or are they just trying to breed a new population down on earth? That is up for you to decide.
Okay guys! So here's a weird little tale for you, Elisa was a Canadian student at the time but was on a vacation when she went missing. Reports say that she had gone missing at the beginning of February in the year 2013. Her body was not discovered until 19 days later.
What makes this even creepier is where they found her, after complaints of people having black water. They sent up a maintenance man to check it out, when he got to the roof, he saw clothing laid on the ground and just assumed it was a few kids having fun.
When he went to check the water tank, that's where he found the body of Elisa Lam floating. Now the main question is how did she get there? On the night she went missing, security footage from the elevator camera was released. And there stood Lam, but the way she was acting was very odd. She seemed to be hiding in the corner of the elevator, and would get off on random floors and appeared to be moving weird while in the hallway.
Of course, this spooked many of us who saw it, and some even thought she had possessed by something supernatural. Oh did I mention that her body was discovered at the Cecil Hotel in Las Angeles? There have been many cases of paranormal activity that surround the hotel prior to this incident.
