Jaw surgery countdown! |
Picture taken from google! Days left: 34 I've been waiting for this surgery since I was 8 years old and first got to know I had an underbite. I've always hated my jaw and smile. Not to mention my teeth since I've never been able to really bite together with my front teeth. Only the once at the back, as the picture above. When my bite was at it's worst, before braces and thousends of dentist visits, I could "bite" on my own fingers without touching them with my teeth. It was around 2010, when I was 13 I believe. Since then I have removed 19 teeth in my mouth, 8 of them adult teeth I'm missing in my mouth. I got my first braces at 14. At the upper jaw. I removed the braces at 16. When I was about to remove my wisdomteeth I paniced and they refused to go through with the surgery because I cried, which left me so mad because I wanted it overwith. They decided I needed to get anesthetic, put to sleep, during this surgery. So I had to wait another month. When I was asleep they removed all my wisdomteeth and 2 other ones at the same time. It left me looking like a hamster afterwards. They told me it wasn't really human to remove all teeth at the same time and they were worried I would leave with huge pain. Actually I never really suffered. It didn't hurt a bit. And from what I've heard that is rare. The only problem I had after a few days was the stink that came from the front holes where left-over food got stuck so easily. I still remember that smell. I almost puked because of it. I had to stay home from school one day because it was at it's worst and I didn't want to kill someone with my breath. A month of healing and then I got braces again, this time both upper and lower jaw got it. This was at 17 years old. One year after I first met a nurse at the hospital where I am getting the surgery. She told all about the surgery and the time after. Though one thing she got completely wrong. She told us the surgery was 1 year or 1,5 year away. This spring it's 4 years ago. My surgery date is set. 31st of January. After that I will have to stay home for a month and force myself to eat. I will look like a football in my face and be blue and green. I can't wait for this. Also, a bonus. After the surgery I will have a straight nose!! OMG! You can follow my journey at my instagram I made for this huge event!! Below are some pictures of my teeth at it's worst, today and a smile picture I hate. |
